Impressions Lighting provided a Base Build lighting design for Aecom on this high profile project on the Wellington waterfront, and were selected to provide the base build light fittings.
Over 1700 light fittings were provided to illuminate the interior spaces.
The Designers wanted an element of uplighting provided for the office spaces in this project and wanted to provide this via a suspended fitting that also provided downlighting and good glare control.
They also desired this suspended fitting to look similar to the recessed low glare troffers in the suspended grid ceilings so we went about working with the troffer supplier – PXF Lighting, to design a fitting to do the job.
PXF Lighting modified their existing Presto LED fitting to use the same louvre as the Parabolic troffer fittings and then came up with a 70% downlighting to 30% uplighting ratio.
We provided a prototype for evaluation by the Consultants and once this was approved, PXF Lighting then had this fitting tested in their lighting lab and provided us with an IES file so lighting calculations could be undertaken.
The light fittings were supplied in January 2018 with the project completed mid 2018.
